Unpaid care work remains one of the most invisible yet essential forms of labor in our society. Women globally bear the disproportionate burden of unpaid care work — caring for children, the elderly, the sick, and maintaining households. This work, while critical to the functioning of communities and economies, remains unrecognized, undervalued, and uncompensated.
At Tarangini Foundation, we advocate for the recognition of care work as work. We call for investments in care infrastructure, social protection systems, and policies that value and redistribute care responsibilities. The right to work cannot be fully realized until we address the unequal burden of unpaid care work that falls on women.
